1. Who we are

Mr. First Advice is an independent publisher of educational articles on money, technology, health, home, and lifestyle topics, operated by Mr. First Advice Media (“we”, “us”). This policy applies to mrfirstadvice.com, our newsletters, and any related pages that link to it.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and deliver what you ask for.

  • Information you give us: your email address when you subscribe, and your name, email, and message when you contact us or submit a pitch.
  • Usage information: pages you visit, time on page, referring site, browser type, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files that remember preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising. See section 4.
  • We do not knowingly collect sensitive information such as health records, financial account numbers, or government ID numbers. Please do not send these to us.

3. How we use information

  • To send the newsletters you selected and confirm your subscription.
  • To respond to questions, corrections, and advertising inquiries.
  • To understand which articles are useful so we can improve our coverage.
  • To show advertising and measure how it performs.
  • To protect the site against spam, fraud, and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Cookies and advertising

We use first-party cookies for basic site functions and analytics. Our advertising and analytics partners, which may include Google Analytics and Google AdSense, set third-party cookies to measure traffic and serve ads that may be based on your visits to this and other sites.

You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from reading our articles.

5. Affiliate links

Some articles contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, the retailer may set a cookie that tells them we referred you, and we may earn a commission. We do not receive your name, payment details, or purchase history from these partners.

6. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only in these cases:

  • With service providers who help us operate, such as our hosting company, email service provider, and analytics tools, under contracts that limit how they use it.
  • With advertising partners, in the form of cookie and device identifiers, as described in section 4.
  • When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our readers, staff, or the public.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

7. How long we keep it

We keep newsletter subscriber data until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honor that request. We keep contact messages for up to two years. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including California, Virginia, Colorado, and the European Economic Area, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your information.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising and the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under state law.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time with the unsubscribe link.

9. Children’s privacy

Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers by email.
