Mr. First Advice exists to give readers clear, accurate, practical guidance on the decisions that shape everyday life: money, technology, health, home, and more. We write for readers, not for advertisers or search engines.
Our editors decide what we cover and what we say. Advertisers, sponsors, and affiliate partners have no input into editorial articles, and they never see stories before publication.
Writers are not told which products earn us commissions when they evaluate them.
A product’s commission rate never affects its rating or ranking.
Sponsored content is produced separately and labeled “Sponsored” at the top of the page.
Articles are written by staff editors and vetted contributors with direct experience in the topic: certified financial planners and accountants for money topics, registered dietitians and clinicians for health topics, and licensed contractors for home improvement. Every article shows the author’s name and a bio describing their background.
Articles in high-stakes categories receive an additional review before publication:
Finance: reviewed by a credentialed financial professional (CFP, CPA, or equivalent).
Health: reviewed by a licensed medical or nutrition professional.
Legal and tax topics: reviewed by an attorney or enrolled agent where the guidance depends on law.
We rely on primary sources wherever possible: government agencies, peer-reviewed research, official product documentation, and direct interviews. Key facts, figures, and quotes are checked by an editor before publication, and sources are linked within the article.
Our writers may use AI tools for research assistance, transcription, or grammar checks. Every article is written, edited, and fact-checked by a person who takes responsibility for its accuracy. We do not publish articles generated by AI without human authorship and review.
Rates, laws, and products change. We review our most-read guides on a regular schedule, and each article shows the date it was last reviewed or updated. When we make substantive updates, we note them at the end of the article.
When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and say so. Factual corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date and a description of what changed. Minor fixes such as typos are made without a note.
To report an error, email corrections@mrfirstadvice.com with the article link and the specific claim. We review every report within 24 hours.
Mr. First Advice is free to read. We earn revenue from display advertising, newsletter sponsorships, labeled sponsored content, and affiliate commissions when readers purchase through some of our links. Articles with affiliate links carry a disclosure near the top of the page.
Staff may accept review samples to test products, but we do not accept payment for coverage and we do not promise positive reviews. Products are returned or donated after testing when practical.
We welcome questions and criticism. Reach the editorial team at hello@mrfirstadvice.com or through our Contact page.
